Thank goodness the Dems didn't cave under Nancy's bullying. Congressman Hoyer is now the Majority Leader in the House, beating Murtha 149 to 86. So much for Murtha "having the votes."

Not sure what this means about Pelosi and her pull and weight over the other Dems, but it does show that bullying before you've been elected Speaker even is probably not the best way to go. Pelosi was elected speaker unanimously.

I just don't see - well yes I do see but that in a second - how anyone could have elected Murtha and his ethics issues to a leadership position. He's been involved in bribery scandals and I just read that his type of politics would add more pork to the budget as that's the kind of back scratching politician he is.

But I do see why Pelosi went his way. Hoyer and her don't get along. Murtha and her do. For what it's worth ... it is exciting for women that she is the first speaker of the house. It's another milestone bringing us closer to the First Women President. Which will be a milestone.

I'd prefer to see a Black president or party leader, I think that's of more significance in this country. But that's just my opinion.
