New Mom at 50?
If you asked my mother what she wanted to do now, if she could do anything, I don't think having a baby would be at the top of the list.
But apparently a new study out of London says that women at 50 are at no risk during pregnancy.
Now, the study does not say that it's natural for a woman to have a child at 50. Hence the funniest line in the piece:
It goes on to say that women in their 20s and 30s can freeze their eggs to use in their 50s and 60s.
You know, after menapause has occurred and nature is telling you that you're chance at kids is over.
Why would you want to start having kids at 50? You didn't want to give up your life at 20 or 30, why would you want to give it up then? No, I think the answer is pretty simple. If you knew you were too selfish or too ambitious or whatever for kids in your twenties and thirties, chances are you haven't changed all that much. And, if you do happen to want kids and you have changed your mind...
Adopt. There's a slew of children that need good homes. Heck, you could even get an 8 year old and not lose any sleep.

"Numbers are also kept low because these patients generally need donated eggs to conceive, but the number of older mothers is expected to grow significantly in the future."
