And So It Begins

They are getting their wish. Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert is taking the blame for the Foley affair. All 435 members of that body should do the same. The Beltway is one great big high school, with the Congress at the center of everything. And if the Page's were warned against him, then so were the interns, and if the interns were that means the staffers knew. And if the staffers knew it means ALL the staffers knew. And the staffers run everything.

I wish my friend was still there, or that I still spoke with him. I'd ask him how it was all shaking out on the inside.

One thing I do know, my child will probably never be a Page. It's a shame really.

This will keep Conservatives from voting. They will feel like I do, disgusted with the whole lot of them. What's the point in voting? They are all the same anyway. Two football teams fighting for winning touch downs. Using children. Disgusting.

I will vote though, for the following reasons:
1. Because the independence of the American people can never be compromised.
2. Because I hope for a day when spending will be stopped and bigger government not the goal
3. Because I refuse to let them win, those that wish to make the American populace dependent on "Mother America"
4. Because social issues, while critical at a state and city level, should not be as divisive as they are in our Federal system
5. And chiefly, because I love my country and my rights. And it's a use it or lose it world.

So really, if you like your right to vote, and you hate the way things are going, your vote is your voice. And that whole "one vote doesn't matter thing," is exactly what they want you to think.
