The Amazing Everlasting Aloe!
Unlike my green thumbed cousin, I have no luck with plants. None. I try, I do. I had this pot that I bought in Boston and filled it with simple flowers, geraniums, yellow flowering things I can't remember the names of, and I watered them and talked to them and wished them well. They died after a while. They did live, but they died after not too long. To my own credit, it's hard to grow plants much past September in Boston. It's just too cold.
But here, now in Texas, it's warm enough I could try again almost year round. But I haven't. My mother-in-law gave me two plants shortly after we moved in, one of them an aloe plant. I watered it sparingly, because it's pretty much a cactus, and it did fine. But we started having the little fruit gnats in our house, and we discovered they were coming from the aloe plant. So out it had to go. I knew it would die out there. And it did. But Lewis wouldn't let me bring it in because of the bugs.
But wonder of wonders! My father-in-law looked out on our patio today and low and behold!
