Oil Prices Fall in Wake of Terror Plot
And that's a good thing, right? Not if you read CNN Money. Terror Arrests send Oil Tumbling.
Tumbling? That's a bad word. Though toddlers take tumbles, and objects tumble off things, when stocks "tumble" that's not good.
Slump? Oil hit something like $77 the other day. They are hardly in a slump. Two years ago, shoot six months ago, $75 a barrel would have been unheard of.
And what happened to this headline:
Oil prices rise again as supply in doubt
or this one:
Interest rates and oil prices push inflation up to 4.2%
or this one:
OPEC weekly crude oil prices soar over 70 dollars
Do you see this? Spin it anyway you can so it's bad. Especially when it involves oil and foreign policy.
The only thing I see here that's legitimate is this headline:
Airlines Hit A Downdraft
Which is bad because it's their peak travel season coming up. Do you think the terrorists knew that? I bet they did. Hit them where it hurts. Maybe people won't be planning that Christmas trip to London this year, hehehe, terrorists laugh even though their plot failed.
Either way. Oil prices falling $2 is a mixed blessing. They were too high to begin with. And I thought with all this talk of "Oil is soaring," "Oil Hits New High" we were looking for a fall.
Maybe I was wrong. But I don't think so.

"Oil fell $2 to below $75 a barrel on Thursday after Britain said it had thwarted a plot to blow up aircraft in trans-Atlantic flight and investors recalled the slump in fuel demand that followed 9/11."
