Helmet's Save Lives!

Old Benny boy is lucky he's not dead.

What a moron! Every time I see a person riding a motorcycle without a helmet I say this outloud or out the window or where ever -- "Helmets save lives!" When will these neanderthal types get it through their heads? You're body is your responsibility to protect. If someone hits you - even if its there fault - if you aren't properly protected they can and very likely will kill you. Because you aren't wearing a helmet.

My other pet peeve with motorcyclists - many of them act like their safety is the driver's responsiblity. Nu-huh. No sure. If you're zipping through traffic cutting between lanes and cars going too fast and too dangerous you are putting yourself at risk. Making me drive slower to avoid you (because I'm scared of killing you in my car!! you know that thing that's bigger than you?) is not the solution to your safety problem. They drive recklessly putting the burden on other cars to avoid them. It's not right. Motorcycle riders are so easily missed and unfortunately, so easily maimed! You're on a bike! You get bumped and you fly off and could die, especially without a helmet. I'm in a car, I get bumped and I have an ugly insurance phone call and some points on my record. And maybe whiplash. And if I'm wearing my seat belt, the worse injury I probably have is whiplash and a little anxiety. You - bike rider - are pavement pudding.

WEAR YOUR HELMETS. They make some pretty grovvy ones. You know what I also like? You never see a dedicated bike enthusiast without a helmet. You wanna know who else you never see without a helmet? Those who've lost loved ones due to accidents. Hopefully those who loved Ben will now remember their helmets. Always.

I wish you a speedy recovery Mr. Rothlesberger (spelling is wrong I know.) And I also hope that you will wear your helmet in the future.
