The Stein Wars

Boy howdy! People are loving to hate this Joel Stein guy. The most interesting is at Instapunk, read the section on Joel Stein's biography. Very telling. Stein is a narcissist who wrote a sensational column to sell papers and to get hits on the column page and at the LA Times. He's a jerk, for sure, and he is typically a humor writer. So now he has to defend his stupid, idiotic message in real life and on a national stage.

Stein is a punk. And we've given him enough of our time. As soon as this week is over I hope to never hear his name again. And I will be avoiding his column and the LA Times. Oh wait ... I do that already.

But I think the majors (main stream media, MSM) may pick this up. Just to get some more anti-war press out there. And believe it or not, Stein's uneducated view is the one shared by many. It's why we call liberals unpatriotic. Because the men and women in the military want to succeed in their mission. Liberals want them to fail and bring them home. In fact, they repeat over and over again from the offices of CNN that the military is currently failing. So clearly they can't support the military, and if you don't support the military of these United States in a time of peril ... well, you see the line that's drawn.

But this guy -- Stein -- he's helping midterm elections I think. Just because Mr. Stupid (Stein's new name) doesn't know any military members currently serving doesn't mean that Mr. and Mrs. Average American don't. I just hope that Mr. Stupid aligns himself with former Congressman Nick Lampson or another Dem, because that might just be all it would take to give Congressman Delay (or another Rep) the upper hand. Normal people dislike and distrust those that are way off the deep end. And the Dems repeatedly are slipping off the edge.

Case and point, Mz. Stupid Sheehan. She wrote a stupid article on Michael Moore's site and blasted everything from Bush to the Pledge of Alliegance to the history of the American Military. These people, the Mr. and Mz. Stupid's of the world, that speak without being spoken to, who offer their opinion without anyone asking for it, these people, are going to hurt the Dems chance in the midterm elections. Because, like I said, Mr. and Mrs. Average American don't really care what these Hollywood types think about much of anything. They are too busy worrying about their kids on a school bus and their husbands and wives in office buildings or serving their country overseas. They worry about our countries safety. And while the war in Iraq is not perfect, and is by no means over, I wonder what the opinion polls would look like if you asked "Should we bring our troops home?" And I'd like that same question to be put to the military members. Because the answer to that would be, "No. We still have more to do."
