Bye Bye Daniel!
NBC is "dropping" their controversial show, "The Book of Daniel."
I can't say I'm sad.
I didn't see it. First of all, it was in a terrible time slot. I predict that anything on television on Friday night prime time that isn't a children's movie is going to be canceled. If you are targeting a savvy audience on Friday night -- I'm sorry, your 18 to 35s just aren't home. So, what more can someone think when NBC puts a new show on Friday nights?
That they want it to fail. Or that they aren't willing to risk putting it on a Wednesday or Tuesday night. Or, gasp the coveted Thursday.
Now, "Emily's Reasons Why Not." There was a show they pushed and really wanted to do well. Unfortunately, it got canned after the first showing. Maybe even half way through the ratings were so bad. It didn't stand a chance. It was on Monday on ABC. Fighting against Las Vegas, Medium, the King of Queens, and How I Met Your Mother. Clearly, there isn't a lot going on in the early sections of the lineup. It should have had hope. But ... maybe the title through them off. Maybe viewers thought there were a bunch of reasons as to why not watch.
So ... bye bye Daniel. Hope you like the cutting room floor.
