To Our Military Family -- God Bless You
With a little searching on the internet I was able to find some quality pictures of our
troops helping people in Iraq. Whether or not you agree with how this war started or whether or not they should be there , these men and women put their lives on the line every day for a cause they believe in. And contrary to popular belief, many of the Iraqi's are grateful and look forward to a free Iraq without Sadaam. The picture to the right was taken by Cpl. Adam C. Schnell, to view the story behind this photograph and others, click HERE. The other photos I have posted here are from Cpl. Schnell,
as you can see, regardless of John Kerry's comments, our military members are not terrorizing anyone.
All of these pictures came from USMC.mil, and there are many great stories posted here. And while yes, they might be slightly biased, I believe there side of the story, since their boots are on the ground. AF.mil has some great photos as well. Including this one of Staff Sgt. Lakeitha Luster holding an Uzbek baby during a humanitarian visit at an orphanage. The photo was taken by Tech. Sgt. Scott T. Sturkol.
I guess my point is that these men and women are doing a really great job, and deserve our
endless support and gratitude. Not all this constant bickering and "get the troops out of there" crap. They are doing a good job, and most of them want to continue to do a good job. If you want to show your support, visit Army.mil (which also has photos of the men and women over in Iraq) and post a message at To Our Soldiers. I'm not sure how many troops visit the site, but by the scores of pictures that are being sent in to these websites, I imagine there are many that visit it regularly. I also recommend visiting the Air Force's Hometown Link: Holiday Greeting page.
Merry Christmas to all of our servicemen and women overseas and away from their families and loved ones. Your countrymen are thinking of you and pray for your safe return.
