Tom Delay Indicted
I posted a whole thing about this a long time ago. It was about TRMPAC and the redistricting and how the money was used and all of this. Tom Delay was indicted today at about quarter to one eastern time. He now has to resign his position as majority leader of the house.
This is not good. People have been looking for a long, long time to find a way to get this man out. And it appears they have one. With a weakened President in the polls and Frist in trouble as well, there is no one in power that can risk being aligned with him. This was strategically done. If its coincidence, I give the people at be credit. Because this is just amazing. I am curious, and a little worried, about how this is going to play out. I am not afraid of Republicans losing control of anything, be it the House, the Senate or the White House. I believe we live in a great country and that our constitution will always ensure that our rights are protected.

But this is dangerous. I'm not sure who will get the Majority Leader position at the House. Rest assured it will be someone the Dems like a lot better than they like Delay. But whoever it is will not be as powerful, or get as much done. Tom Delay, like him or not, gets things done for his party and his agenda.
This is a scary day. Delay has made it through many scrapes before. He got into office after a fight, and he's been fighting ever since. And the Dems have not forgotten. This has the propensity to be exteremely ugly. I'll keep you posted.
